Aaron Atencio: Plan on taking a break for awhile during your day-long exploring. Plenty of steps for everyone to sit down, shade, excellent views, and some of the best people watching in town. You'll want to stay.
Lisa Haghverdi: The little gift shop and cafe has pretty decent sandwiches, hot dogs and drinks and you can sit outside, relax and enjoy the view.
Joseph Herring: If you look at the back, you can get a beautiful view of Tidal Basin and the Washington Memorial.
VirginiaIsForKids.com: If the weather is nice, rent a pedal boat and get a great view of the Memorial!
babysmurf: The best spot to view it is from the paddle boat basin. In summer, rent the boat & paddle around the lake. It's beautiful!

Amy Wilson: Go see the memorial at sunset when it's all lit up and you can see the sun setting behind the Lincoln memorial. It's absolutely incredible!
Steven Androphy: As long as there aren't undisciplined children running around, this is probably my favorite of the memorials on the Mall. Come anytime sunset or after for the best experience.
