The most beautiful cafe in SF. Great coffee (no tea), some pastries, open space, WiFi-free and solid music choices. The design of the space is the highlight. My favorite place to work in SF.

Ask them for the new flavors! I really love the Jasmine green tea, Persian rose, and almond macarons. ALSO macarons and tea go well with each other. try the teas they serve too!

There’s nothing more civilized than weekend afternoon tea. Especially if you consume the finger sandwiches and scones amid the splendiferous turn-of-the-century trappings.
Afternoon tea for two, with champagne was lovely. Had the 100 anniversary tea...loved the florals and warm scones :) The Pear finger sandwich was my favorite.
Come here for a ludicrously expensive high tea, and you'll feel like the Queen as you daintily bite into your finger sandwiches and scones.

Sextant recently switched to Neighbor Bakehouse pastries, which means (1) they have delicious and unique pastries and (2) they carry the best (blackberry pistachio) almond croissant you'll ever have.
They are super friendly and have a good selection of coffee and pastries. They also roast coffee on premises, have wifi and a fairly quiet atmosphere for some solo work during the week.

Great spot to hide and work in the middle of a hectic city. Decent coffee, plenty of outlets, free wifi, silent and ambient atmosphere. Try a donut.
The chocolate chip cookie is delicious and rich, with speckles of chocolate sprinkled throughout the dough (rather than clumped in chips). Typical coffee shop pastry pricing ($3.50) and a nice treat.

Protip: Pour over at the coffee bar is only $2! Single origin, local stuff (Ritual, Blue Bottle, etc.), or you can pick anything you want from the coffee aisle. Best enjoyed with a vegan donut.
Open early around 5am and closes at 9pm. Blueberry cake and maple raised doughnuts are great. The glaze just melts in your mouth.
Great pizza for lunch but in the morning the specialty donuts are the play.
