Live music and great cocktails. A large amount of outside porch area to escape the basement if you need to. Nobody dances but the live bands are usually really great.
One of the coolest cats in town has got to be Toledo Diamond of the speakeasy jazz band The Toledo Show. The music is top notch and the show truly must be experienced. Read more.

Wednesdays is #houseofvibes great live music spanning Rap, R&B, and Reggae. DJ plays mostly hip hop. Rare for a Wednesday in Santa Monica.
Young Musicians Foundation performances are free but hard to come by. Reserve weeks in advance. Limit 2 tickets per person. They are awesome!

This Concert Series is a favorite of mine. Eclectic genres and this series begins in September for 2018. Occurs on Thursday evenings and its a free concert with cultured music and lots of freebies.

The lobby (with sofas to melt into & saucy live jazz piano music after dark) still remains one of the best places for a romantical rendezvous in this town. Toast with a Kir Royal~they do it gorgeous!

It's a beautiful beach, & the boardwalk is fun. You have the promenade 3 blocks away. Theres concerts during the summer. It's all around great. Its crowded, but so what? its a beach. deal with it.
