Lots of places in Old San Juan, but this is one rather authentic. Service can be a little slow, but the portions makes up for it.

Went in Saturday night at 7.15 and waited 1.5 hours but it wasn't full. Whole fried fish with papaya avocado salsa $36 and delicious. Felt local and authentic. Very casual restaurant in La Placita.
So good we ate here 2 nights in a row. Everything is good and the menu rotates so you get to try different things. The standouts are the bolitas (fried cheeseballs) and the whole fried fish.
