Opened in 1899, this is Houston's first park. As one of the first desegregated public golf courses in the US, the park is now one of Houston's most historically significant public green spaces.
Favorite park in Houston. Great trails.
Miles of winding trails. Make sure you have a bike with tires that can handle some of the mixed terrain if you're riding your bike. Great elevation changes here and a nice view of the city.

Recently moved to Houston and this is a great park to do just about anything I've already been bike riding and jogging and it's wonderful! I highly recommend it's a great atmosphere too
The view of Downtown is unbeatable fresh air, great for a walk.
One of the prettiest along the green stretch of Buffalo Bayou, with the city skyline as a dramatic backdrop, and is the site of the city's official Fourth of July festivities every year.
FPSF is just around the corner. Might be wise to take your bike down to the park and save the stress finding parking and getting through traffic from the event. Bring water! Gon' be hot!

Pack your lawn chairs & cooler & prepare to have a relaxing good time here. Visitors sit on the hillside or take a seat under the polygon canopy to enjoy the weekly shows that run from spring to fall.
The park has a short but yet serene walking and jogging trail and it is wonderfully quiet and peaceful there.
Nice park to get a good workout. The 2 mile trail is better than walking 8 laps at the school.

In my opinion its Best park ! Kids have fun playing and watching the animals!
Hiking the Nature Trail is fun, but they need to mow and maintain it. Watch out for high weeds and grass (wear long pants), fallen trees across the trail and snakes.
Best place to jig, run or walk. Trails are safe and you'll meet a lot of friendly health conscious people.
Awesome trail. Doesn't even feel like Im in a large city when i bike. I can pretty much bike anywhere for groceries or what not along trail
One of the great additions to the Houston Bikeway System that connects the Houston Heights heading towards Downtown. Hit up the Nicholson bike trial also!
More trees/shade would be welcome! I love the trail, but I hate the inevitable sunburn (even with sweat-proof spf 55). Go early to prevent a not-so-awesome workout sunburn!

I love this dog park! Well lit, separate play zone for the small dogs, large run, big pool, and wash area. Plus, people and pets are all very nice.
Great park with a lot of good dogs/owners. Downside is the people that bring their little dogs to the big dog side then get upset when the big dogs confuse them for toys.

This Lush is a brand new free standing store and the customer service is excellent. If you want to try something rather than buy it ask for samples to take home
first and last time, super expensive and I'm still waiting for my free samples that the cashier promised... Go to L'occitane Friendly staff, good deals and they do give you free samples

This 155-acre non-profit nature sanctuary provides education about the environment to Houstonians of all ages. It plays a vital role in protecting native plants & animals in the heart of the city.

You can totally beat this spot on a gorgeous day. Beware the tacky security that gets on the lawn and flashes his lights until you bounce
