The name of the park is a reference to the route (now Irving Park Road) that had been used by Native Americans and fur traders to portage their canoes between the Des Plaines and Chicago Rivers.
unbelievable hidden gem in Chicago. Turf field and great baseball organization for kids in the city.
If you ever have the field to yourself or a group of friends, it's a great place to play baseball! The turf is a very nice addition, and it's well sized. For the little ones, there's a play park, too.
