Stare at stingrays from the spiral staircase of the Great Ocean Tank (so big, they actually built the aquarium around it) or cradle a hermit crab (carefully) in the Touch Tank.
They keep it quite warm - dress cool. Awesome aquarium!
Beautiful aquarium! It is crowded on weekends. Do yourself a favor, buy your tickets online! Allot at least 2 hours to see everything!
Seeing the seals swim under water is free; almost better than paying to go into the aquarium itself.

The whale watching tour is excellent. The naturalist on board was incredibly knowledgeable. They are well prepared for seasickness too - they have preventative stuff for sale, and plenty of sick bags
Don't listen to luke s. Yesterday morning they got a group of people doing this in line for the whale watch. They said they got the tip on foursquare too.
If coming from outside downtown on T. Don't try to take trains all the way to south station nearby. Just goto aquarium and walk along waterfront in a breeze to stay cool compared to heat in T stations

Walk to the Sea, a one mile trail starting at the State House and ending at Long Wharf near the Aquarium with its beautiful view of Boston Harbor. Totally free!
